The most common question I have been asked over the past six months when speaking with clients and friends of the SAS Group is “when will then election be held?”.

It’s been a tumultuous finish to the parliamentary year for the federal government. A backbench rebellion by several Coalition senators, an inability to pass key legislation, and continued hostilities with some state Premiers have all dominated the past month.

Only minutes after our last edition of The Inside Word was released, the state political realm was shaken by the sudden resignation of then New South Wales Premier, Gladys Berejiklian.  After a short period of political manoeuvring, a leadership ballot for the NSW Liberals was won by 39-year-old father of six (soon to be seven) Dominic Perrottet.
