SAS client Digital Infratech has commenced a game-changing data cabling project stretching 120km from Brisbane's CBD to the Sunshine Coast, providing faster internet speeds and more secure information storage right here in Queensland.

With Maroochydore recently becoming home to Queensland's first cable landing station, connecting our shores to Guam via a high-speed datalink submarine cable, Digital Infratech and their partner Titan Fibre Networks are underway building the cable network and data centres.

The network is anticipated to deliver high-speed connectivity from Southeast Queensland to the rest of the world, a significant capacity boost for local data storage for the region's new and existing infrastructure in health, education and security, and provide the fastest possible access to the cloud, emails, streaming services and more for local businesses and communities.

More civil construction teams are being engaged to ensure the completion of this project completed by June 30 this year. The overall work count exceeds 150 persons employed and generates over $15M in construction jobs, with support and servicing over the next 25 years.

The dedicated 360 fibre cores bring a sovereign solution to the needs of government, including the department of defence, private cyber security firms, telcos, banking, along with the innovation prescient in health, education, and technology.

From a single strand of fibre, the “lit” capacity using lasers can drive new capacity into the emerging regions.

The map below shows the route of the current cable laying program, traversing 14 Queensland and 6 Federal electorates.
