Congratulations to SAS Group Director the Hon Larry Anthony AO for being awarded Officer of the Order of Australia.

This is significant recognition for Larry’s distinguished service to the people and Parliament of Australia, to political institutions, to business, and youth leadership organisations.Larry’s contribution to politics is well known, having served as the President of the National Party of Australia (2015-2021) and as Vice-President (2005-2013).  Larry served in the Parliament of Australia as the Member for Richmond (1996-2004), as the National Party Whip (1997-1998), as Minister for Community Services (1999-2001) and as Minister for Children and Youth Affairs (2001-2004).

Larry’s community service to youth includes his long-standing commitment and support for the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, Australia. He was the Chair of the Dukes (2005-2012) and has been the President of the Friends of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards in Australia since 2013. He was awarded Gold Distinguished Service Medal, Duke of Edinburgh's International Award in 2017, and the Centenary Medal for service as Minister for Children and Youth Affairs in 2003.

Larry has held a range of board position in major private and public companies including SunWater, Indue, Abacus Australia Mutuals, Macquarie Media Group and National Credit Union Australia. He co-founded the SAS Consulting Group in 2009.
